While we were away I stumbled across this great design book and magazine shop, like a better version of Magma. There was LOADS of choice I could have been in there ages but I came out with a book called Typography in Magazines by Laura Meseguer. Something I am very interested in and will help me a lot in my work. It shows lots of examples of how type is used on front covers, spreads and logos of different publications and also lots of detailed information about them- why certain fonts have been used and positioned in certain ways.

Also while flicking through some other books I found a page on Hans Brinker’s advertising!
